Windows 10 Review – The Good and the Bad

  1. I had websites pinned to the taskbar when I updated to windows 10, they are all still there and all work just fine although I have not tried to pin any new websites yet

  2. I tried pinning certain websites to the taskbar using both IE and Firefox but it won’t. It did allow me to add websites to jump lists but did not pin the page to the taskbar. Coming to Edge, it does not show any favicon that I can drag to taskbar.

  3. The only thing I noticed is that on the smaller Win7 Home Prems that received Win10 upgrade via update, there being no uefi/secure booter, the Comodo CIS FW no longer can work, and upgraded 7 Home Prems with Privatefirewall saw same become listed as “broken” programs at Control Panel (and sitting as if not installed)…Privatefirewall too can’t seem to run/re-install properly anymore even with usual removal tools/extra efforts. Other than that, my experiences with 7 and 8.1 upgrades is as yours and Mr.Campbell’s.

  4. Arun I have not found a way to pin any new websites to the taskbar either, as you say no favicon to drag to taskbar. Strange microsoft let you keep what was already pinned but no way to add another.

  5. Have you all checked out their Microsoft 10 FB page posts???? There are more nightmares than positive comments…..Better rethink this “messiah” of a product. Customer service telephone lines have up to an hour and a half hold time. What is that telling you??????

  6. I would love to!!!! I thought I was doing something wrong!!!!! Also you might want to check out Cnet.com…… looks like if you have Office 2010 Microsoft has made it impossible to use…forced to use 365 Office! Mozzilla customers are pulling their hair out too….compliments to Windows 10 Yesterday I tried to contact Microsoft via chat line……141 MINUTES!!!!! Here is my story with the windows 10 fb link……..

DO NOT UPGRADE!!!!!!! Check out Microsoft 10 FB page….Many people can
not afford to have their computer fixed because of Microsoft’s total
negligence and malice…..They knew this would happen that is why they
offered it for free. You know the old saying…. “You can never get
something for nothing” or “you get what you pay for”

  7. Windows 10 is far slower then windows 7. Constantly cannot display new tabs; “This page can’t be displayed” message over and over and over. Can’t have multiple tabs open to multi-task. This system is so slow, how frustrating and behind the tech curve. They even screwed up Solitaire, it now takes a minute to launch. Is it time to Apple up? Get rid of all the Microsoft product and free my family from the year after year of Microsoft trying to get it right. They just don’t get it nor will they ever get it right. Oh by the way there is no tech support to answer my question or to help me. Interesting enough I know several people to went back to Window 7 and claim they experience much better results then with “7”. HELP

  8. I’ve had 10 for just a few weeks, going from 7 to 10. I don’t think I like it overall. Everything is in the same place, and Cortina, or whatever its called is kind of cool, when it works correctly. I miss Spider Solitaire, and my spouse misses Solitaire. I tried to download Spider, but it didn’t work. It blinked halfway through and never finished. I find it much slower than 7, it “blinks” and opens again, or sometimes I have to do it manually. It’s even shut down completely on me, twice. I really dislike how we got it–Windows went into an automatic download and in the middle of it started installing 10 automatically, and got “stuck”. Nothing would happen. My son works with computers and fixed it for me. Nope, all in all I think I will go back to 7, there are still to many things that Microsoft needs to work on with this version. Or maybe just switch to Apple and be done with Microsoft completely. I’m quite irritated.

  9. OneQuill, I couldn’t agree more. Ever since Bill Gate handed the reigns over to someone else MS has gone downhill rapidly. I’ve been an avid XP user for all the time XP has been around, and I still use it on my lappy. I changed to 10 on my tower only becuse I was having problems. Now I wouldn’t say 10 is bad, but I could c**p a better system than all systems MS have developed since XP. In fact 10 doesn’t even reach the dizzy heights of c**p, no wrong, it doesn’t even reach the dizzy heights of sewer rat s**t

Bill Gates please come back and take over again and get rid of all the egoistic, money grabbing 2 faced a**eholes on teh management that are there and start again. Reactivate Xp and do yourselves a big favour!

  10. Windows 10 — with Edge — SUCKS! Nothing but problems and the permanent security updates are more than annoying. My desk-top ran Windows 8 before I “upgraded” to Windows 10. Never a problem until I changed to Windows 10. I bought me a laptop with Windows 7. Works perfect without any problems. I wish I could change to Windows 8 on my desktop again.
