This app claims to improve the overall speed of your game including frame rate drops and lag spikes as well as alt tabbing out of games faster. You generally land up with a more responsive gaming experience.

Hi, I tried Gboost on my Dell Studio 1555 laptop running Windows 7 home premium 64bit. Here are my following observations.

1.Whether Gboost is in boost mode or not, it is using over 50% of CPU.

2.The advanced options menu doesn’t show any apps to close, like Aero themes etc. Its blank.

3.The application shows a significant decrease in the no. of background processes and services in the boost mode. But the windows task manager shows that there is no difference in the number of processes running before or after the boost.

    4. The program gives errors when selecting help topics like goto forums or reset to default.

Didn’t find any difference in the performance of games.

That was true and strange, the application itself in my laptop takes close to 99% load, had to close it while playing and then re-open to restore settings back to normal, the menu shows well here though.

Interesting comments left by Juan and Ishwar, I’ll be checking it out shortly to see if it really is as useless as has been implied by their comments. If it is that bad, I’m surprised to find that the windows club has successfully posted what appears to be an epic fail of an application….more to follow later.

I downloaded this, and to be honest, I’m not impressed. 99% CPU useage for something that is supposed to do the most minimalistic of tasks is simply unacceptable for one thing. I have seen better game boosters on the market as far as freeware is concerned. This program failed to even run after waiting for what seemed like forever on a perfectly reasonable laptop with a 64 bit platform. This was a waste of time, and I am indeed surprised at what has been the first fail posting I have ever seen from the Windows Club. Not what I expected from a site that more often than not dishes out pretty decent apps.

Thanks for all your comments – so things are not what they appear with GBoost!

Unfortunately as I had mentioned earlier too, I do not try out all apps – I only present options and availability.

I’d recommend trying something like iobit’s Game Booster. It does a better job of ‘working’ in the first place :P

Obviously not trying to decry the efforts of anyone responsible for highlighting the software that’s out there….just making a suggestion :)

I have use GBooster until I found this application on majorgeeks.com, not sure what problems you guys have but it works far better. Plus its free and iobit now want to charge silly money.

Here is a young gamer testing GBoost against Game Booster. GBoost Wins boosting a extra 20 services! There is no signs of cpu problems there either.
