I have tried all of the “solutions” an none have worked! Still looking for a way to get rid of this update.
Also having the same problem with KB3188128 for Adobe Flash Player.

  2. Ziggy

Same happened here. Mine stuck at 54% and wouldn’t budge. The only way that I could fix it was to get the direct download from Microsoft Update Catalog, which worked fine. All other Patch Tuesday updates were then successfully installed using Windows Update. This only happened on my laptop but not on my desktop. Can’t figure that one out! Interestingly, the same problem occurred when trying to use “Windows Update MiniTool”, which gives me greater control over my preferred Win 10 updates.

I was able to do the first part through the Microsoft Update catalog and it brought my Insider release preview build to 14393.187 Finally the rest installed. However the Adobe Flash update KB3188128 hung for the longest time at 33 percent but finally installed.

folks showed be aware that the size of the update is big. It is 431MB.
Using the link Andy posted here I am told that it will take 3 hours to download and I have quite a fast internet connection. I can normally download a file of this size in minutes not hours.

Yes mine stuck at 45% then i have restarted my pc but it was still in 45% then i manualy downloaded kb 3189866 in the browser for 64bit version and installed this update is available in Microsoft server it was around 434mb ryt now this was the only effective solution …. ! To get the update now

Yep, I’m stuck at 46%. gonna try to manually update, wish me luck

This is the third major failure I have with Windows 10, after the Restart loop issue and the GE 635M driver incompatibility.
That’s why, after using Windows for more than 30 years, I’ll move to Apple or a machine + linux the next time I buy a PC. I am more than fed up with Microsoft total lack of quality and service. Enough is enough.

Deleting the Software Distribution contents didn’t seem to help for me, but just leaving it on in the background, it later seemed to update quietly and gave me a restart notification later in the evening. So maybe better to just let it do its own thing.

Just wanted to thank you for the download link. My Intel mini NUC5i7RYH with 5th generation Core i7 computer needed the download to install KB318866. The other newer version NUC6I7KYK with the 6th generation Core i7 looks like it might install via Windows update, but about to find out. Think that maybe Microsoft will get this right with next version of Windows and the 7th generation Intel processor? (Ha Ha!) In any case, the direct download link is much appreciated. I tried for 2 days to update the older NUC computer with no luck until I used the direct download package. Many thanks..

Sigh. I downloaded the above and now it’s telling me “the update is not applicable to your computer”. I must be missing something.

The other updates installed but KB3189866 would stay at 45% downloading. Left it alone for a day or so and when I fired up this morning, it was done.

To get it away, just hit “installed updates” and hit “uninstall”
