VideoSpin
Video spin is a free application meant for editing AVI and Windows Media files. VideoSpin is developed by Pinnacle Systems. With VideoSpin you can create funny, and all those awesome videos and you can directly share those with anyone.
The final product or file saved by VideoSpin is very efficient, and it works well. You can burn that file to a CD/DVD or just upload it directly to the web. It is very easy to use, and it has a good output quality. You can directly export the video to YouTube or Yahoo.
VideoSpin is free, and you will be able to edit AVI and Windows Media files. But if you need to create or edit videos in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 format, you will have to buy the codecs.
UPDATE: VideoSpin is no longer free. You may want to check out free MoviePlus Starter Edition, WeVideo, Ezvid, FreeVimager instead
Have you used any of these? Or would you like to share about some other video editing freeware?
great tutorial.. all the mentioned softwares are awesome.. esp Avidemux is great.. i liked working on it.
Another good, free editor to consider is MoviePlus Starter Edition from Serif.

they are working great on my pc.
thanks for the information!!!
You forgot about Windows Live Video Editor. The BEST free option.
video spin is not free…its trial and no commercial use without pay
Thanks. Post updated.
Does movieplus do anything above and beyond what windows movie maker already does?
good suggestion, I think you missed WMM by microsoft. Another free video editing software I might suggest is Smartpixel software http://www.smartpixel.com.
Thanks for it! We will surely cover it in some other article!
Smartpixel is NOT free. Once they trick you into downloading it, you’ll discover that it’s only a trial offer with their watermark.
Thanks for this fresh input. 🙂
I wish Microsoft didn’t kill Windows Movie Maker. It’s very basic in terms of features but should be enough for someone who doesn’t need a bloated full fledged video editor.
