If you have been using Copilot for a long time but you have recently tried Meta Muse and found it pretty impressive, you are not alone. They share similarities and differences. Instead of opting for a specific AI agent, it is highly recommended to go through this article to learn more from our personal experiences over the last few weeks.

Meta Muse vs Copilot: Which AI Agent should you run on Windows 11
There are several aspects you must consider and compare before putting either on the highest row.
Parent company
Meta Muse’s parent company is Meta Platforms. You might already know that they also own Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc. On the other hand, Microsoft owns Copilot.
Basic and advanced tasks
This is where you need to focus and read every aspect minutely. First, both are AI tools, but they are not the same. They both use AI, but they’re not 100% identical.
Copilot is one of the best tools for researching a topic, creating images, writing code, etc. On the other hand, Meta Muse does all those things, but it is more like a personal AI assistant.
That said, if you need an AI tool to automate tasks, you should consider Meta Muse over Copilot.
For example, Copilot cannot book a restaurant appointment, but Meta Muse can. Copilot cannot reply to your WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram DMs, but Meta Muse can. These are just a couple of advanced tasks you might not need all the time, but having the option is always the cherry on the cake.
If you want to generate content, research a topic, create custom goals, make a schedule for the month/week, create an image or find the best deals on the internet, Copilot is more than enough. However, if you want the best automation deal, Meta Muse would be handy.
App integrations
This is where you might prefer Meta Muse over Copilot since Copilot doesn’t have any third-party app integrations. That said, if you use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., Copilot integrates easily. On the other hand, if you want to connect Gmail, GitHub, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, etc., you cannot do that with Copilot.
However, Meta Muse supports these integrations. As a personal AI agent, Meta Muse needs that access to provide better service.
The most important thing is that Meta Muse comes with a built-in browser you can use to browse the internet, even if you don’t have a browser on your computer.
Personalization
This is where both options fall short, as they don’t offer many ways to customize the UI. However, Copilot lets you enable or disable memories, Chat history, Web search, etc.
Meta Muse allows you to switch between light and dark modes, change the theme, etc.
Availability
Meta Muse is still in its early days. You can download the official app on Android, iOS, and Mac. However, to use it on Windows PCs, you must use the web version. The Windows desktopis expected to be released very soon.
The Copilot app is available for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
Paid subscriptions
You can use both for free, but with some limitations. However, to use all the features, you must pay at least $9.99/month for Copilot and $20/month for Meta Muse.
Both also offer higher subscription plans.
Security concerns
If you are highly concerned about your online privacy, Meta Muse isn’t for you because it requires almost all your personal information to work well. For example, you must connect Gmail, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Google Contacts, Google Drive, Google Calendar, and so on.
Since Copilot isn’t a personal agent, you don’t have to connect all those apps and share all those details with an AI.

Our opinion
It is impossible to rule out the old one since the primary focus of both AI tools is different.
For normal users: You can always try Meta Muse, but do not depend on it 100%. It is still in the initial stage. So, try it once. Do not integrate any other service. Use it like you use Copilot and find the results. In our opinion, Copilot will provide better search results.
For developers: Still, Copilot is far better. Although it’s easy to open or edit code in Meta Muse, we would prefer Copilot for this purpose.
For teachers: If you often create tests, you may not find a major difference between the two. In our opinion, they both do the same job.
For students: We tried to learn a new academic topic through both apps. In our opinion, Copilot did a better job. Although both provided mnemonics, Copilot’s were easier to remember, which matters for students.
For artists: If you often create images to take inspiration for AI tools, try Meta Muse once. If you have used Copilot for the same purpose, you’ll notice the difference. While testing and creating a simple PC wallpaper, Copilot took more time than Meta Muse. Also, Meta Muse’s image quality was much better than Copilot’s.
For team managers: Don’t look back if you have already started using Meta Muse. It will be your personal agent, even if your office doesn’t provide one.
Hope this comparison was helpful for you. To wrap up: If you want an AI tool for research, try Copilot. If you want an AI tool for research and a helpful hand, try Meta Muse.
