Windows Calendar app has many interesting features such as connect your Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, create new events, change calendar background, enable dark mode, etc. Among those features, adding an alternate calendar in another language along with your primary (or main) calendar is also there.
While some users find it useful, others rarely use that feature. If you want to view an alternate calendar with the primary calendar, you can turn on this feature, select any of the supported languages (Hindi, Arabic, Korean, Thai, Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese, etc.), and then use the alternate calendar available for that language.
When you don’t want to use alternative Calendar, you can disable or turn it off easily. This post will show you step-by-step instructions to turn on or off showing alternate calendars in Windows 10 Calendar app.

Disable or Enable Alternate Calendars in Calendar app
The process involved is simple:
- Open Windows 10 Calendar app
- Click Settings icon
- Access Calendar settings
- Enable/ Disable Alternate Calendars
In this basic step, open your Windows 11/10 Calendar app. You can simply use the Start menu or Search box to open the Calendar app.
When the Calendar app window is opened, click on the Settings icon. It is present on the bottom left side, just next to Microsoft To-Do app icon.
A right-sidebar will open showing different settings. In that sidebar, click on Calendar Settings as highlighted in the image above.
Under Calendar Settings, you will see options such as Change First Day of Week, Days in Work Week, Working Hours, etc.
Scroll down the options and Alternate Calendars section will be visible to you. Use the Enable option to turn on alternate calendars.
After that, a drop-down menu will activate. Use that menu and select any of the available languages for an alternate calendar. Once the language is selected, you can choose a calendar related to that language using another drop-down menu. Most of the languages have more than one calendar, while other languages have only one calendar.
Now the second calendar will be visible along with your primary calendar.
