If you want to add a little panache to your Outlook or make the icons a bit more recognizable, you can use colorful icons or add App names. The icons placed on the navigation bar usually have plain icons but with the help of this post, you can add a bit of color to it.
Enable or Disable Colorful Icons in new Outlook app
To enable colorful icons in the new Outlook app for Windows 11/10, launch the Outlook (new) app by searching it out of the Start Menu. Once the app is open, click on the cog icon placed at the top label of the window to open Settings. Then, go to the General tab > Appearance, scroll down to reach the Navigation bar, and then enable the toggle for the Use colorful app icons. Click on Save.
If you want to disable colorful icons, disable the toggle Use colorful app icons.
Hide or Show App names in Outlook (new) app
To display App names in the left navigation of the new Outlook app, open Outlook (new) Settings > General > Appearance and move the switch against Show app names to the On position. Click on Save.

How to change icon color in Outlook app?
You can not change the icon color in the Outlook app but you can add a pinch of color to the program. For this, you can go to Outlook > Settings > General > Appearance, then change the Modern themes, and add the color.

How to change Outlook color theme on app?
To change the color themes, go to the Appearance section in the Outlook app and then change the color theme. There are various themes to choose from, such as Modern and classic themes.
