After that, you can double-click on the downloaded installer file of Roblox to run it and follow the onscreen instructions to install the app. You can also install Roblox from the Microsoft Store.
Why can’t I install Roblox on Windows 11?
This issue can occur if the installer file that you have downloaded is damaged or infected. Another reason for this could be the fact that you lack the permissions to install the app on your system. Apart from that, a corrupted Roblox cache folder or a corrupted Microsoft Store cache can cause this issue.
Fix Roblox won’t install or download on Windows 11/10
If you can’t download or install the Roblox app on your Windows 11/10 PC, here are the methods you can use to fix the issue:
- Re-download the Roblox installer.
- Run RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe with administrator rights.
- Remove the Roblox folder.
- Allow Roblox through your firewall.
- Try installing Roblox from the Microsoft Store.
- Clear the Microsoft Store cache (if applicable).
Before you begin, reboot your PC and then see if you are able to install Roblox.
1] Re-download the Roblox installer
It might be the case that the downloaded Roblox installer file is corrupted which is why you can’t install the app. The file might have been corrupted during the time of download or might be infected after being downloaded on your system. Hence, if the scenario is applicable, the first thing you should do is download the Roblox installer file again from its official website.
2] Run RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe with administrator rights
The problem might be caused due to a missing administrator right. Hence, if the scenario is applicable, you can run the installer file with administrator privileges and check if you can install Roblox. Here’s how you can do that:
- Go to the Downloads folder or the folder where you have downloaded the installer file of Roblox.
- Now, right-click on the RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file.
- From the appeared context menu, select the Run as administrator option.
- Next, follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation of Roblox.
See if the issue is resolved.
3] Remove the Roblox folder
If the installation of Roblox failed midway and you are trying to install Roblox again, delete the Roblox folder from the Windows AppData folder to fix the issue. Here are the steps to do that:
First, open Task Manager using Ctrl+Shift+Esc and ensure no instance or process related to Roblox is running in the background.
Next, press Win+R to evoke the Run command box and enter the below command in its Open field:
Now, in the opened File Explorer window, look for the Roblox folder, right-click, and select Delete to remove the folder.
Once done, run the RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file and check if you can install the app or not.
4] Allow Roblox through your firewall
Another potential cause of this issue could be firewall interference. Your overprotective firewall might block the Roblox installer from installing the app on your PC. Now, if this is the case indeed, you can check that by disabling your firewall temporarily. If the problem is resolved after disabling the firewall, you can be sure it is the main culprit. You can keep your firewall disabled until Roblox is completely installed.
Alternatively, you can allow the Roblox installer through your firewall and check if the problem is resolved. Here’s how you can do that:
First, open the Windows Search option using Windows+Q and open the Windows Security app using it.
Now, click on the Firewall & network protection option. After that, tap on the Allow an app through firewall option from the right-side pane and then press the Change settings button
Next, click on the Allow another app button and then press the Browse button to select the RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file. And, click on the Add button.
You will now see the Roblox app under the list of Allowed apps and features; tick the checkbox associated with the Roblox app and enable it on both Public and Private networks.
Once done, you can press the OK button to save changes.
Finally, you can relaunch the RobloxPlayerLauncher.exe file and check if the app installs correctly.
5] Try installing Roblox from the Microsoft Store
If you are still unable to install Roblox using its installer file, you can try installing the app from the Microsoft Store. Roblox provides a desktop app version that can be installed using its installer file. Also, its UWP or Universal Windows Platform version is available that you can install from the Microsoft Store.
Hence, if the installation of Roblox fails when installing the app using its installer, you can open the Microsoft Store, go to the Roblox page, and install the app by pressing the Get button.
On the other hand, if you are unable to install Roblox from the Microsoft Store, you can download the desktop installer from its website and then run it to install Roblox on your computer.
6] Clear the Microsoft Store cache (if applicable)
If you are facing the issue when trying to install Roblox from the Microsoft Store, it might be the corrupted Store cache causing the problem. So, if the scenario applies, you can delete the Microsoft Store cache and then see if the problem is resolved. Here’s how:
First, open the Run command box using Win+R and type & Enter WSReset.exe in the Open field. As you do that, it will clear the Store cache within seconds or a minute and then reopen the Microsoft Store. You can now try installing Roblox and see if the problem is fixed.
Why can’t I play Roblox on Windows 11?
If you can’t play Roblox on your Windows PC, it might be a server-side issue causing the problem. Roblox servers might be down at the moment, which is why you are unable to play Roblox games. If you have a weak or unstable internet connection, this problem is also likely to occur. A corrupted browser cache or extensions, proxy settings and app corruption can be other reasons for this issue.
