To Turn On or Off Press the Lower Right Corner of the Touchpad to Right-click in Windows 11/10, you can use any of the following methods.
- Using Windows Settings
- Using Registry Editor
Let us talk about them in detail.
1] Using Windows Settings
Let us start with the simplest of the two. We will see how you can disable the option as it is enabled on your system by default. Windows Settings is a graphical interface where you can disable the feature in question with just one click. If you want to do the same, follow the prescribed steps.
- Open Settings either by searching it out of the Start Menu or by keyboard shortcut Win + I.
- Go to Bluetooth & devices.
- Click on Touchpad.
- Expand Taps and then untick Press the lower right corner of the touchpad to right-click to disable it.
Close Settings, and you will notice that pressing the lower corner of the touchpad doesn’t right-click now.
If you want to enable it again, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad > Taps and check Press the lower right corner of the touchpad to right-click option. This will disable the feature for you
It is quite easy. Isn’t it?
2] Using Registry Editor
Now, let us use the tools for tech enthusiasts. Registry Editor is an app on your system that contains registries, you can configure them to customize your computer. Registry Editor is a better option for customization as it has more options, however, the only caveat is that there is very little room for error. That is why we recommend you create a backup of your registries before using it to change your right-click option.
Once you have created a backup, open Registry Editor by searching it out of the Start Menu and go to the following location.
Look for RightClickZoneEnabled. If you can’t find the value, right-click on the PrecisionTouchPad key and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Name it RightClickZoneEnabled. Now, open the newly created DWORD value and set its Value data to 0 to disable the option.
To enable it, launch Registry Editor, go to the location mentioned earlier, open the RightClickZoneEnabled and just set the Value data to 1 or ffffffff.
This will do the job for you.
