Each update features a lot of performance improvement and bug fixes. But in case if you haven’t downloaded the update for a long time, you are most likely to face different errors in Google Backup and Sync. So, download the latest Google Drive desktop app update to fix any error in Backup and Sync.
3] Whitelist Google Backup and Sync
If different errors block your access to Google Backup and Sync, the probability is high that the application has been restricted under the Windows Firewall settings. To fix the problem, you will have to allow the program from the Firewall settings. Here are the steps you need to follow.
- Open the start menu and search for Windows Defender Firewall.

4] Turn off Proxy settings
If you were connected to a proxy server, it’s no surprise you are facing different errors in Google Backup and Sync. In this situation, you will have to turn off the proxy settings. To do so, follow the below steps.
- Press the Windows + I hotkeys to open the Settings menu.
- Choose Network & Internet from the left panel of the screen.
- From the following Windows, click on Proxy.
- Click on set-up present next to Use a Proxy server.
- Disable the toggle, and tap on save.
Now, restart your PC check if the error is fixed or not.
5] Change Trusted sites settings
Another major reason that can trigger different errors in the application is this Trusted sites feature of Windows. The trusted site functionality is used for websites where you can’t access certain features due to high security. You can access all those features by adding the website to the Trusted sites. Similarly, you will have to add Google to the trusted sites to fix the problem. To do so, follow the below steps.
Press the Windows key to open the Start menu.
Search for Internet Options and press the enter key.
Switch to the Security tab, select Trusted Sites, and click on the Sites option.
Paste the below line under the Website box.

Click on Add.

6] Change Google Drive location
The next solution you can try to get rid of different Backup and Sync errors is to change the location of the Google Drive folder. By default, all the backup items are stored at C:\Users\username\Google Drive
. But there can be some issues with the location, causing errors in the application. So, change the Google Drive location to fix the problem.
How to fix Error 2d9827ff of Backup and Sync?
The error 2d9827ff originates when the program comes across a problem while updating Google Backup and Sync. It’s very easy to fix this error message. To begin with, close googledrivesync.exe from the Task Manager. Now, open the File Explorer, and navigate to %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Google\Explorer. Now, change the name of the Drive folder to Drive.OLD.
