After you have download WriteMonkey, double click on the WriteMonkey icon to open this tool. After opening, you will get a UI like this:
As you can see there are no options except “Word Count” and “Time”. Now, you can start writing whatever you want. Obviously, it provides more options, and is not just a writing platform. To find the options, right-click on the empty space to open up the Options pane. You will get the following option:

Generally, WriteMonkey saves files in .txt format. But, it is possible to save your document in .docx (Standard document file extension for MS Word) and other formats too. To do so, right-click on empty space and select Save As. After that, select All Files in the Save as type box, write down the file name with a proper extension.
For instance, if you want to save a file in .docx format, just write the name as example.docx and save your file.
