While using the Google Chrome browser to sign into your Google or Gmail account, if you encounter an error message saying RPC executor service threw an error, here is how you can get rid of this problem. This error mainly occurs on Android mobile phones, you can follow the same instructions on Windows computers as well.
What is RPC executor service?
RPC or Remote Procedure Call is a client that establishes a connection between your computer and the server you are trying to reach. In other words, RPC helps you build the interaction between a client and a server. In this case, your computer is the client, and Google’s server is the one that you are trying to connect to.
RPC executor service threw an error during Google sign-in
To fix the RPC executor service threw an error problem during Gmail or Google sign-in, follow these solutions:
- Clear app cache and browsing data
- Create new profile
- Sign out of existing Google account
- Update browser
- Reset the browser
- Restart RPC service
- Temporarily disable proxy and VPN
- Check Browser sign in settings

1] Clear app cache and browsing data
It is the very first thing you should try when you get the sign in error due to the RPC executor service. At times, old cookies, cache, and other browsing data could cause this issue on your computer.

2] Create new profile

4] Update browser

6] Restart RPC service
RPC or Remote Procedure Call is a standalone service of Windows PC. However, if there are some problems with this service or this service has stopped somehow, you might find the same problem as above.
To restart the RPC service in Windows 11/10, follow these steps:
- Search for services in the Taskbar search box.
- Click on the individual search result.
- Find the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service and double-click on it.
- Click on the Stop button.
- Click on the Start button.
- Click the OK button.
Next, you can also do the same with RPC Endpoint Mapper service as well. However, if the Start and Stop buttons are disabled or grayed out, you do not need to do anything.
7] Temporarily disable proxy and VPN
If your proxy or VPN fails to establish a connection between your computer and the server, there is a chance of getting the error, as said earlier. That is why it is suggested to temporarily disable proxy or VPN if you use any.
8] Check browser sign in settings
There is a Group Policy setting that forces users to sign in to use the Google Chrome browser. If you have enabled this setting with many others incorrectly, there is a high chance of getting this problem while signing into your Google account. - Press Win+R to open the Run prompt.
- Type gpedit.msc and hit the Enter button.
- Navigate to this path: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Google Chrome
