With the release of the Chromium-based Edge browser, only a small number of users are using Internet Explorer but Microsoft still ships Internet Explorer as a browser in Windows 10. Recently some users reported a UAC box popping up on the desktop screen that asks to install the ssvagent.exe file. SSvagent.exe error while starting up Internet Explorer
If you’re facing SSvagent.exe error while starting up your Internet Explorer, you may follow the below suggestions to get rid of this issue:
- Run internet explorer as administrator.
- Select Tools icon > Manage add-ons.
- Click on Show: drop-down menu.
- Select Currently loaded add-ons > SSVHelper Class.
- Click the Disable button and close the window.
Now let’s see them in details:
First of all, click on the Start button and type Internet Explorer.
From the search result, right on Internet Explorer and select Run as administrator.
If UAC prompts on the screen, click on the Yes button to grant the permission.
Now go to the top right corner of the screen and click on the Tools icon and then select Manage add-ons option from the menu list. Alternatively, you can use the Alt+X keyboard shortcut to open the Tools menu.
In the Manage add-ons window, go to the left side of the screen and click on the drop-down menu under Show: tab.
From the menu list, select the Currently loaded add-ons option.
Choose SSVHelper Class and then select the Disable button.
If you see here an Enable button instead of Disable, it implies the add-on is already disabled.
Again click the Disable button if the Disable add-on popup on the screen.
Now close the window and restart the Internet Explorer.
