1] Verify your internet connection

A poor internet connection can cause the ‘error in body stream’ issue in ChatGPT. Check the speed of your network and make sure the internet is working properly. If you have a working internet, reload the ChatGPT page in your browser to set the connection to the server from scratch.

If the ChatGPT server is temporarily down, it might throw errors while generating responses for user prompts. Go to status.openai.com and look for the ChatGPT option. You will see status updates for the past 90 days. A green bar indicates no downtime, while a red or orange bar indicates a partial or major outage. Take your cursor over the bar at the extreme end to see the recent status. If it is showing an outage, there’s nothing you can do but wait till things get back to working again.

4] Clear browser cache

Follow these steps to clear Google Chrome’s cache:

Right-click on the three vertical dots icon in the extreme right corner of the address bar of Chrome.
Select Settings.
Click on the Privacy and security option in the left panel.
Then click on the Clear browsing data option in the right panel. A popup will appear.
Select All time from the Time range dropdown.
Tick the checkboxes for ‘Cookies and other site data‘ and ‘Cached images and files‘.
Click on the Clear data button. Allow Chrome to clear cookies and cache.
Relaunch the browser and see if the ChapGPT issue is gone.

5] Contact ChatGPT support

If nothing helps, seek help from ChatGPT’s official support team. How do you regenerate response in ChatGPT?

If you want to generate the response without editing your prompt, click on the Regenerate button in the bottom right corner of the response.
