Create an animated GIF from video
There appears to be no rocket science involved in its use. All the user has to do is head over to the Chrome Web Store, download the extension, play the video, and follow the simple steps thereafter to create an animated GIF.
Once the extension is added to Chrome, open the video you would like to create an animated GIF of and hit the extension’s button. The video will be loaded.
Just resize the seek bar before proceeding, till you cover the desired area you want to capture. Next, play the video and click ‘Start’ from the extension’s popup.
The extension will begin its work shortly thereafter. That is, it will begin converting the video area under the seek bar. At any given time, you can pause, skip the unwanted frames, and resume from a different point in the video.
Once finished, click ‘Done’. If required, you can append the animated GIF with a text of a single line though and reverse the PLAY direction.
After all the changes have been made and found to be satisfactory, ‘Generate GIF’ button can be pressed. Pressing the button will soon confirm the action of creating a GIF.
After completion, you can share it with your friends or save it to your local drive.
MakeGIF Video Capture is capable of generating a fairly good animated quality GIF. Update: This one has been discontinued. Try Capture to a Gif instead.
