AI has changed a lot, especially in the content industry. Earlier, images were sold for premium prices on stock imagery websites. However, now anyone can create AI-generated images for free. Midjourney is the most popular platform for creating AI-generated images. But at times, users encounter the error Midjourney Bot Failed to process your command when they Enter the prompts in Midjourney’s Discord server.
The Midjourney Bot Failed to process your command is either caused by a busy server or location restrictions. Since Midjourney has become very popular lately, the server usually remains busy. Also, many countries and jurisdictions have banned Midjourney.
Midjourney Bot Failed to process your command
If you counter the Midjourney Bot Failed to process your command on your system, then please try the following solutions sequentially:
- Wait till the server recovers
- Leave the Midjourney server and rejoin it
- Use a VPN
- Log out and log in to Discord
- Clear Discord cache
1] Wait till the server recovers
If any website ceases to work, we check its server status. However, Midjourney uses the Discord server for communicating with its users. Midjourney does not return the Failed to Process Your Command error only when its server is down, but also when the server is busy. The latter is quite a frequent occurrence. Thus, all you can do is wait for the server to free up a bit.
2] Leave the Midjourney server and rejoin it
If you tried generating prompts from your account repeatedly, the attempts could be saturated. In this case, you can leave the Midjourney server and join it again. By doing so, you will be re-initiating the session. The procedure is as follows:
When your Midjourney account is open in Discord, click on the downward-pointing arrow associated with Midjourney symbol.
Click on Leave Server which is the last option.
Click on Leave Server once again on the prompt.
Now, you will need to rejoin the server.
Go to Midjourney.com.
Click on Join the beta.
Click on Accept Invite.
Verify the captcha.
Select Continue to Discord server.
Now, try to enter the same prompt and check if it works.
3] Use a VPN
As mentioned earlier, location restrictions can be one of the reasons behind the error “Failed to Process Your Command” on Midjourney. To bypass these restrictions, you can use a free VPN tool. The VPN will allow you to bypass the restrictions. We recommend using the server for the USA, UK or any other country where Midjourney is known to work.
4] Log out and log in to Discord
Midjourney doesn’t generate AI images on its own website. It uses a Discord server for that purpose. So, logging out of Discord and logging back in can be helpful. The procedure is as follows:
You will notice your Discord username at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Click on the cogwheel-shaped symbol next to the Discord username. This will open User settings.
Scroll down to the bottom of the menu on the left pane.
Click on Log Out.
Click on Log Out once again on the confirmation prompt.
You will be redirected to the Discord login screen.
Since your credentials will be filled in already (or you can fill them again), click on Login.
5] Clear Discord cache
Some users use Discord through their website and others through the Discord Desktop app. If you are using the Discord Desktop app, then cache files will be stored on your system. If these files become corrupt, errors like Failed to process your command may occur. To fix this, you can clear the Discord cache. The procedure is as follows:
Press Win+R to open the Run window.
Copy-paste the following command in the Run window.
%appdata%\discord
Delete the folders named Cache, Code Cache, and GPUCache.
Now try to Enter the Midjourney prompts once again.
Why does Midjourney fail to process my command?
Midjourney may fail to process your command primarily due to server issues. For most other applications, the server rarely gets busy or down. However, in the case of Midjourney, the server being busy is common. In this case, you will have to wait for a while and then try again.
Why my Midjourney is not working?
In case Midjourney is not working on your system, please check for server issues before anything else. Then update your Discord app because it is important to use the latest version of the Discord app. Finally, you can verify your subscription and account.
