The internet is a place that is filled with trends, but finding these can be a task if you have no idea where to look. Thankfully, the folks at Google have thought about this problem, and as such, they’ve provided us with a tool called Google Trends. Now, you might expect the tool to be straightforward and super easy to use, but that’s not the case if you’re an amateur. There are several things for internet users to take advantage of, and guess what? We’re going to talk about a few them.
How to use Google Trends
Google is able to provide a great service with Trends because the company’s search engine is the best in the world. Yes, it might not be too great when it comes down to privacy, but it is miles ahead of the competition in more ways than one.
1] What is Google Trends?
Trends is an online tool that connects with Google Search to allow users to know what people are searching for. It’s primarily used by businesses and writers, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be used by anyone who wants to.
2] Explore tab
OK, so the Explore section is quite powerful because of all the information available. From here, the user can search for any term, and then check the interest over a period of time. If that’s not enough, then how about looking at the interest from regions around the world.
Additionally, folks can look at related topics and select the ones that best match the original search terms. Do you wish to compare search terms? Well, that’s no problem because this feature is available.
3] Trending Searches
Want to see the top searches by Google Search users? Worry not—all you need to do is click on Trending Searches from under the hamburger menu. After clicking, the first thing people will see is a list of all the top search trends for the day.
The daily trends are not real-time, so if you’re seeking real-time trends, select the Real-Time Search Trends option to see the top trends in the past 24 hours. The option is also there to change the category to fit your needs.
Bear in mind that once you select one of the options from the list, the tool will show the popularity data, along with links to related articles for your reference.
4] Year in Search
Every new year, we are treated to all the top things that happened in the previous year. By using Google Trends, you can see all of this without relying on what the news has to say. Folks can check what is trending via their country of choice, or on a global level.
5] Subscribe to Google Trends
The Subscribe feature allows you to receive free notifications for updates on terms and topics. Go to the hamburger menu, then click on Subscription.
Finally, click the plus button to create a subscription, but make sure to select terms or topics to get things going.
