Very Easy fix. I use MS Money 99 and typed "previous versions" in the search box of settings in Windows 10. You then get "run programs made for previous versions of windows". Click on that and you get to a compatibility troubleshooter. work through that and, VOILA, MS Money gets modified to work !!!

In reply to <a href="https://www.thewindowsclub.com/use-microsoft-money-on-windows-10#comment-48393">Mark</a>.

I have been running MS Money since 1998, and gave the last retail pro version made, along with the Sunset version. I have installed it on various PCs & laptops, including the most recent Windows version. Never had any issue, which is good because I depend upon my custom categories for tracking budgets, personal business, and reports for tax purposes. Still love the program and gave no issues. Where I may differ from those that are experiencing issues is that, I enter my transactions individually and manually, as if using an old school register. I manually balance accounts using my entries against the bank statement. I do not attempt to download statements and let the software reconcile. Perhaps this creates an issue, due to the changes in the support of the sunset version, or lack thereof. I fully customize my categories, and get creative in order to add, track, and balance certain accts, all w/o issue. I’m a little OCD with the amount of category breakdowns I track, but I can spit out a category report that I can use to complete taxes or give it to a tax acct, who can use it easily to complete personal and small business taxes. The only issue I have found is in invoicing. It is difficult to print a suitably formatted and detailed invoice, without some tricks. Nevertheless, despite numerous computer changes, different OSs, I have been able to import my files and run this program successfully for 20 years. I’d be lost without it.

I'm having a different problem - I'm getting an error message that says "C:WindowsSystem32rasadhlp.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error," etc. I had installed MS Money 2006 on my relatively new HP laptop, and never had any issues with it until the latest Windows 10 update. I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling and installing Sunset Edition... I never get the error message this article talks about, just the one about the .dll file. I don't know if anyone is still monitoring this comment thread, but if you are, and have any suggestions, it would be very much appreciated!

Hi, just got a new laptop with Windows 10 and running Chrome as my internet explorer (I prefer how it looks but I have Edge also on the laptop) On going to the regedit my version is 9.11.16299.0 - changing this to 9.11.10240.0 doesn't enable me to start money (in terms of reinstalling back up) I can start a new file but that's no use to me - any ideas people?
