Windows 7 Powered Acer Iconia Tab W500: Impressions

As we all know that the Tablet market is flourishing day by day and all big and small device manufacturers are trying their luck in this segment of devices which is currently ruled by Apple iPad and followed by other popular tablets. Currently Tablets are mainly powered by different versions of Android and Windows 7 (except iPad having iOS) and we can also expect Windows 8 Tablets somewhere in middle of 2012 as well.

In this post I am reviewing one of the best Windows 7 powered Tablet manufactured by Acer Inc. — the Acer Iconia Tab W500. The Tablet is, without doubt, a nice offering from the company. So, without further ado, let’s get familiar with the tablet.

The stylish Tablet is a Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit) based Tablet. It comes packed with a powerful 1GHz AMD C series dual core processor which is well complimented by a 2GB DDR3 RAM. Imagine for yourself folks the speed it will generate for you.  Talking about the storage capacity, the Tablet offers an onboard SATA 32GB Hard Drive. You can store as much of entertainment and work you want on the Acer Iconia Tab W500.

If you want to know about the display of the Iconia W500 then I would like to tell you that the 10.1 inch HD screen has a resolution of 1280x800p. This LED Backlit TFT LCD screen gives integrated multi-touch and image auto rotation. The viewing quality is superfine and you’ll enjoy your HD movies while moving without any clutter.

The tablet has a front and rear Acre crystal eye camera which has a resolution of 1280×1024. Here I would like to mention the dimension of the Acer Iconia W500 also, it is 275 (W) x 190 (D) x 15.95 (H) mm and the device weighs around .97kg.

Moving towards the battery capacity of the machine, the Acer Iconia W500 has a 3 cell 3260mAh li-polymer battery which supports up to 1000 charge cycles. The battery gives you a work time of 6h and a 4 h video play back time. In the connectivity segment it offers you a Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n.  It has a 2 in 1card reader, 1HDMI port, 2USB2.0 ports, 3.5mm headphone speaker jack, Ethernet port on the dock.

If we look towards the accessory segment of the tablet, Acer is offering some good stuff such as the detachable keyboard and the premium leather cover to keep the tablet safe and to carry it with ease. I must say with the power of Windows 7 and powerful hardware, Acer has taken a nice leap to make the PCs more portable and stylish.

Now, would anyone want to argue about the efficiency of the Tablet called the Acer Iconia W500?
