Great advice. My was hung up at 87% for at least 2 hours on the most recent Win 10 update. I unplugged the extra monitor, mouse & keyboard, and various other USB devices I have in a multi port hub. It was at 100% within a couple of minutes.

For one of my computers, (5-days & nights still installing at Blue Screen "Please WAIT for the install to complete" notification), it MAY be that I had the laptop set to English, but the PC and Windows is Japanese.
I think that on one of my other PC`s it may have been that which finally got it to install within 120 hours.

Who knows why Microsoft are so incompetent, they would not let customers be able to upgrade without changing the language first? Not that Microsoft have not been told for fifteen years by millions of ex-pas customers across the globe about such difficulties since Millennium, to Windows 2,000, to XP to Vista to Windows 7 to Windows 8, to Windows 8.1 to now.
Maybe one day they will awaken from their determination to drive customers into the helpful Arms of Linux 17 & beyond.....

I have two computers doing the same thing right now.

Upgrade just happens and computers restart and then freeze at some point showing percentage.

I have two more computers that may do the same thing very soon. How do I stop the upgrade? I will have to toss the two computers that freeze up as they are unusable and the hard drives cannot be access to retrieve data on them. . One is an HP2000 and the other Compaq cq56.

Dumbest comment ever. Why would you trash a laptop over the OS? Just install the dam* thing again. And no, the dumbest thing you can EVER do is block updates. Feel free to send it my way if you're trashing it. Your loss, my gain. I'll even pay the shipping.
