Updated Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1, Windows 7 to get new features

Microsoft’s address at the Build Conference marked a special occasion for it not only led to the announcement of Windows 8.1 Update and Windows Phone 8.1, but also a release of revamped updated version of the company’s propriety browser Internet Explorer 11. This updated Internet Explorer 11 will be available with the Windows 8.1 Update and for Windows 7  as well as for Windows Phone 8.1.

Whether you are on full-sized desktop with mouse and key inputs or an 8-inch tablet in touch mode, it is not an issue for IE 11, for it adapts to your browsing experience by detecting your Windows device and input type automatically. The browser now allows you to be in complete control of it by letting you adjust the number of tabs on-screen, size of the fonts and menus and more. Also, it permits you to limit its time on-screen or disappear on your command.

22tracks and FishGL Optimized for touch

Microsoft has looked to optimize Experience for 22tracks and FishGL on Internet Explorer 11. The company will be rolling out a newer version of its classic aquarium screen – FishGL. It serves a dual purpose. First, fun activity. Second, an interactive, touch-friendly 3D graphics benchmark on Windows 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1. Similar functionality has been extended to 22Tracks. The updated browser would handle the task of finding new and emerging music from top DJs in much better and interactive way.

New enhancements to the F12 Developer Tools.

IE11 now packages an enhance suite of in-browser developer tools that help developers build, diagnose, and optimize modern Web sites and apps. The Debugger tool for instance, makes it easier to identify, detect, and isolate code that is transcompiled, minified, or part of 3rd party libraries like jQuery.

Enterprise Mode

Enterprise Mode for Internet Explorer 11 extends Internet Explorer 8 compatibility for specified sites. The mode lets enterprises of any size (big or small) safely update to Internet Explorer 11 and at the same time maintain backward compatibility for specific sites developed primarily for Internet Explorer 8 or below. This, Microsoft believes will help organizations migrate to Windows 8.1, dispelling fears about adopting the OS over concerns that their Web apps could be incompatible.

Reading Mode and High Savings Mode

Reading Mode helps you optimize the view of articles as if you are reading a digital book on your phone while High Savings Mode enables you to reduce data consumption between 60 and 80 percent by compressing images and other download elements and loading only those that seem relevant for viewing content. The feature bears some resemblance to Google’s data-savings proxy and Opera’s Turbo mode.

A beta site to foster a two-way dialog between the IE team at Microsoft and the community. It will give developers insights into standards that are supported on IE, which of them are currently under consideration and are likely to be developed further.
