Used the fixit tool. After several minutes it said it uninstalled office and that I needed to restart my computer. When the computer restarted, automatic repair started immediately and couldn't push through saying the computer did not restart properly. Now i cannot use my computer. It goes straight to automatic repair and won't let me access my session. Apparently it affected a file from System32. :/
My only option is to reinitialized my laptop. Hopefully it will solve the issue.

I find it very troubling one cannot uninstall such a standard program like Office. I've unsintalled manually, removed registry, and removed all other traces I could find using 3rd party software, and deleted the folders in the program files as well. Still when I tried to reinstall, it seems to already know my personal detials, and all the old problems and settings are preserved. This NEVER happens with similar issues on Win7 or WinXP using the same software disk. Maybe its useful to M$ and the NSA to track users and keep traces everywhere, but it ruins the possibility of truly fresh installs which often are the only way of fixing intractable problems..now we don't even have recourse to this last effort. Very troubling from a technical, privacy and legal point of view. is this stuff in the kernel or stored offline at Redmond? I'm downgrading to Win7...this is ridiculous.

Try posting the download link FIRST next time instead of burying it at the end. I shouldn't have to explain this concept.
