When you maximize a window in Windows Vista or Windows 7, the transparency gets lost in the window, as well as in taskbar. At the AeroXP forum a hacked aero.msstyles file was posted, which enabled the transparency in maximized windows also. But you need to manually patch the system.
But there is an easier way out. You can also try True Transparency from CrystalXP. It is a Windows freeware that replace your windows’ borders by skins composed with transparent images, adding png support to give true transparency. The light tool silently sits in your system tray. The new version brings Aero Snap and Aero Shake effects.
Right-clicking its icon provides access to all its options, 3 mainly.
The program also has some customization preferences, letting you choose between multiple skins.
