It is essential, for downloading updates that you be connected to the Internet. If you can’t install updates because of Wi-Fi problems, try plugging in your Surface into a working electrical outlet before installing updates and kindly do not unplug or turn off your Surface while it’s updating.

It is also necessary to download and install only the appropriate MSI file for your Surface from the Microsoft Download Center. To do so, make sure you’re logged into your Surface with administrator rights.

The firmware and driver package includes drivers for all of the components in the Surface Book, as well as updates to the system firmware that have been released via Windows Update. These drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 10, including Enterprise versions

Wait for the download to finish then extract the contents of the zip file to your desktop.
