If you are an Insider and installing latest Windows Builds via Fast ring, Windows complete version number with Build Number is displayed on Desktop. It is mentioned in the post “Starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14316, Windows Subsystem for Linux has been provided. Starting with this build, one can run native Bash on Ubuntu in Windows”. Maybe you missed it. :)
