You do need to be careful using parts of it though. Usually I will wait until the registry is 10% fragmented, then I will defrag. Never had a problem with this program. Currently running Windows 8 Pro.

]]> By: Dan https://www.thewindowsclub.com/registry-defrag-good-or-bad#comment-27071 Fri, 08 Mar 2013 04:21:00 +0000 http://www.thewindowsclub.com/?p=64560#comment-27071 On Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit : I’ve been using “Free Registry Defrag” for two years on this OS edition, when it suggests 3% or greater fragmentation rate; so far, it has always defragmented w/o issue(s) and slightly improved performance between runs…even if the last apparent update to version 3.0 was in 2010 (perhaps I’m lucky to not have gotten a deprecated/corrupt files download). Prior to that I tried a few times the registry defrag in “Advanced Uninstaller Pro” but each time on said OS result was need to clean reinstall due to serious registry issues at boot. Prior to “AUP”, a number of registry defrag apps seemed to have no positive/negative effect at all on said OS.
