To pair your Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID, follow the steps below.
1. Connect the in-box USB cable to your Surface or Windows 10 device and your keyboard.
This is also how you charge Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID. You may need to charge the keyboard at first use. While charging, the white LED above the up arrow key will blink. When fully charged, the white LED will be solid. When your batteries are low and need to be charged, a red LED will blink.
2. Turn on your Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID by sliding the power switch to on.
3. On your Surface or Windows 10 PC, tap the pop-out toast notification message that appears in the bottom right corner of your screen.
The keyboard driver will then download/install and automatically pair Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID to your Surface or Windows 10 PC. If you miss the toast notification message or are unable to tap on it, turn the keyboard off and on to restart the pairing process.
Note: To install the Fingerprint ID driver, your Surface or Windows 10 PC needs to be connected to Wi-Fi or ethernet before pairing. If you are unable to set up the keyboard while connected to the internet, you can manually install the Fingerprint ID driver.
