David Rothschild of Microsoft Research has created Oscars Ballot Predictor for Excel 2013. We already saw how he created and used a versatile, data-driven model to predict the winners of the Oscar Awards this year. Based on the prediction modeling from PredictWise.com, Microsoft has now made the app available for download.
This interactive app lets you see the Oscar nominees, vote for your picks, and check out the predicted winners in each of the 24 categories. Your selections get recorded on a printable ballot sheet that you can take to your Oscars party to compare with your friends’ choices and see how your odds stack up.
The Oscars Ballot Predictor app features the following three worksheets:
- The Oscars worksheet displays the categories with each nominee represented by a star
- The Ballot worksheet displays your picks in red and the likely winners in black
- The Data worksheet shows the percentage likelihood of winning for each nominee.
The new Oscars Ballot Predictor app does try to bring a bit of Hollywood fun to Excel 2013. You can download it from the Office Apps Store.
The Office Apps Store from Microsoft, is a place you can visit to find more apps for Word, Outlook, Project, SharePoint, Excel and Word 2013. These apps can add more functionality to your programs and consequently make work easier, increase your productivity and help you have fun with Office 2013 in the process.
