Microsoft Releases Advance Notification for the April 2011 Security Bulletins

Microsoft has released advance notification on the release of 17 security bulletins of which nine are critical rated and eight are rated important. The updates will be released on April 12, 2011.

The updates will address  64 vulnerabilities across Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Visual Studio, .NET Framework and GDI+. All of the critical rated flaws along with 6 important rated vulnerabilities has the risk of remote code execution, one important rated vulnerability allows elevation of privileges and the other causes information disclosure.

Last month Microsoft had released only 3 bulletins. This release will see the most number of vulnerabilities fixed.

The full list of resolved flaws will only be announced next week.

    So if they are critical, why wait to release them? Why not release the updates now?
