February 2016 Update – Soluto for PC is shutting down:

We’re moving in a new direction. 8 years ago we set out with our vision to provide a new and easy way to support PC’s and other devices. 2 years ago, we were acquired by Asurion. This acquisition has led us to the world of support for mobile devices and has allowed us the exciting opportunity to impact millions of users.

When this change came about, we chose to make our Soluto service that you know and use free to everyone with no limitation. We sadly reached a point where many of the services that we relied upon aren’t available and we would need to dedicate significant time and resources to rewrite them. As our focus has shifted, we can no longer offer the dedication needed to support and develop our older Soluto service.

As of April 1st, we will be shutting down the Soluto PC Management platform entirely. Please take the next 6 weeks to make alternative arrangements for your device support.

I’ve used Soluto for a few years and it’s great — but for those looking to solely measure boot time might be better served using something else. I’ve noticed Soluto adds a decent amount to the boot time, especially on older PCs.

They’ve also been purchased by Asurion, and ever since their desktop offerings have been taken out of the limelight in place of their mobile offerings. I have to wonder if they will sunset their desktop services over the next year or two.
