How to manage, view, delete saved passwords in new Microsoft Edge browser

If you have started using the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser, and you want to manage, view, or delete saved passwords in this browser, then this guide will help you. Right now, you might not be able to export passwords, but you can view and delete them from the browser.

We often save passwords for various websites in the browser so that we can sign into our account quickly. Although it is better to use a Password Manager, many individuals prefer to use the browser.

Manage, view, delete saved passwords in new Edge browser

To view or delete saved passwords in a new Microsoft Edge Chromium browser, follow these steps:

  1. Open Profiles management page in the Edge browser
  2. Go to Passwords page
  3. Click the Show password icon
  4. Enter your system account’s PIN or password,

Once you have started Edge, you need to open the Profiles page in your browser. For that, open up your browser, click the three-dotted button visible on the top-right corner, and select Settings. It should open the Profiles section automatically.

Alternatively, you can enter this in the address bar, and hit the Enter button:

edge://settings/profiles

On the ‘Profiles’ page, you can find an option called Passwords. Click on this option to see all the saved passwords.

Manage, view, delete saved passwords in new Microsoft Edge

Here you can find four options:

  1. Offer to save passwords: If you disable this option, your browser won’t show the Save passwords message that appears after you enter a username and password on a website.
  2. Sign in automatically
  3. Saved passwords: It shows all the saved passwords.
  4. Never saved.

You need to take a look at the Saved passwords section as you can find all the saved passwords here. There is a password reveal icon visible next to each saved password. If you want to view the password, click this icon, and enter your user account’s PIN or password to verify yourself.

If you want to delete a saved password, click the three-dotted button, and click the Delete option.

Please note that you do not need to enter any PIN or password to delete a saved password. Therefore, remove any password very carefully.

There is another option called Details, and it helps you find the website name, username/email ID, and password.
