Windows 7 UI is not just beautiful, but functionally cool too. To be honest, I like the default Windows 7 theme, but every once in a while you might be tempted to check out a new theme. We have earlier covered Snow Transformation Pack, Mac 7 and other themes for Windows 7. Now here comes a Mac OS X Lion theme for Windows 7. Windows 7 customization & theming enthusiasts may want to check this one out.
Change Windows 7 theme to Mac OS X
The download consists of the following system files, which you have to replace:
- ExplorerFrame.dll
- Mac OS X Lion Windows Theme File
- Mac OS X Lion Visual Style
- Wallpaper
- shellstyle.dll
If you are looking for more wallpapers try these too: Mac OS X Lion wallpapers – White | Black.
If you are looking for an Apple Start button, try these: White | Black.
You can use our Windows 7 Start Button Changer to change the start orb easily. Alternatively, you can hide your taskbar and use RocketDock.
I have used our Windows Theme Installer to only install a few files. If anyone of you plans to install the full theme, please do share your experience here for the benefit of others.
Installing such themes is time-consuming and involves replacing system files, so it is a good idea to create a System Restore point first. If you do not like the effects, you can use the Windows Theme Installer to undo the changes or go back to the created restore point. If you want to be doubly sure and want to replace your system files with originals, run System File Checker.
