InstaTwit: Chrome Extension That Brings Instagram Photos Back To Twitter

Instagram lately disabled the Twitter Integration Card, which meant that Instagram pictures no longer show up on the Twitter user’s feeds. The Facebook owned photo service Instagram had taken the decision of disabling the integration card because of the increasing complaints by users regarding cropped images and viewing Instagram photos on Twitter.

Well, if you are disheartened by this decision of Instagram, there is a solution for you. Just after a few hours of Instagram disabling Twitter Integration Card, Micahel Schonfeld has released a new Chrome extension which brings Instagram photos back to Twitter. InstaTwit, seems to be the simplest way to get around this problem.

InstaTwit helps the users to put Instagram images in their Twitter timeline. This Chrome extension provides the user, the same experience as they used to have before the Twitter/Instagram conflict. InstaTwit will put all your Instagram photos without using IFTTT shortcut. However this extension is available only for Chrome users.

Micahel Schonfeld is an evangelist in Dwolla, the payment company and was in the limelight some time back for building a retweet counter for Obama’s same-sex marriage tweet. He had this to say about his extension:

There’s nothing secret here: it scans the tweet text when you click to “open a card”. If it sees an Instagram link, it figures out the photo URL, and injects it right into the card.

Once you have installed the extension from the Chrome Store, all you need to do is hit the refresh button on your Twitter window. Instagram photos will now show up as they did earlier.

Unfortunately this extension won’t work for Smartphone and Tablet users but it could be considered as the best alternative till Instagram makes peace with Twitter.
