Every time I start my computer my wi-fi is disconnected. My router is not that old (Lynksys ) and I run the Spectrum set up through the cable box, then directly to my router.. All my devices..TV, printer, phone run off the wi-fi signal. I have an IP address for the router...it never changes. This problem just started about 3 weeks ago...I don't remember changing any of the adapters. Troubleshooting fixes the adapter, but always tells me my network cable is disconnected...I check everything and can't find a problem. I only use a wireless signal. I am a computer newbie, and every time I go into the services and try to fix a problem I mess up the programs. Can someone give me some insight into this situation?

I had a similar problem about a month after the Win 10 upgrade happened. All net adaptors (Realtek EGBs), plug-in and USB-based stopped working. Based on web feedback, I reinstalled latest drivers, but to no avail. I turned off Eset NOD-32, both from feedback and knowing it intercepted traffic too, but again to no avail. I tried various new adaptors, too, but no soap. Finally I went back and REMOVED ESET. During the removal process, everthing magically started working, even after robooting. I then downloaded ESET-32 and installed it, robooting. Everything stayed up after that. Am totally delighted!

hi, I am trying for some time now to get my PC to the Internet. Having tried basically all of the above I still receive the message "Local area Network doesn't have a valid IP configuration. DHCP on my router is on and automatic and runs fine with all my other PCs. Doing diagnosis on the PC I can see that both LAN and WLAN are basically connected ok. It's just the IP Address which is not aquired from the router.
Interestingly it worked on that PC some three weeks ago and just now started to make Problems.
Any ideas to get this solved? Thanks a lot.
