Hotmail’s mail attachment reminder, reminds you to attach forgotten attachments

The New Hotmail has become more intelligent ! It now not only provides some great features, but also reminds you of forgotten attachments which you were supposed to have attached, thereby saving you the embarrassment of re-sending a mail, this time with the attachment.

Here’s the message you get when you forgot to attach the attachment : So, if you have really forgotten then you can go back and attach the file and then send it. Hotmail now scans for select words like ‘attachment’, ‘attached’, etc and notifies you if it does not find anything attached to the mail.

As you can see in the backdrop, the text of the message had mentioned ‘Please find the attached file’. Based on this, Hotmail triggers this warning. It would be nice if Hotmail were to share the full list of words which triggers this event.

You can toggle this feature on and off from Options > More options… > Sent message Confirmations (under Writing email).

Really, Hotmail is providing with so many cool features in this new Hotmail update. An official word about this feature by the Hotmail team would have been much appreciated.

Speaking of mail attachment reminders, the Forgotten Mail Attachment Detector for Outlook from Microsoft’s Office Labs may also interest you.
