Free Ringtones for Windows Phone 7

Free Ringtones is a free application for Windows Phone that allows you to identify, download and set free and legal ringtones available on the Internet.  This Windows Phone app gives you access to thousands of tunes and sounds.

Laid out in a simple fashion, the main page of the application highlights hot ringtones, a keyword search page, a page listing all the tones that a user has downloaded and a page to display the download progress of your new tones.

Users can either search for a desired ringtone using the search option or browse the categories present in the application. The categories range from cartoons to movies to sayings.

If you would like to download a ringtone after hearing it, simply hit the download button and the ringtone will be downloaded to the app in some time. Similarly, to preview a tone, just tap the headphone icon and a preview of the tone will be streamed to your phone.

You can also find a ‘Play’ and ‘Pause’ button at the bottom of the screen to manage your preview.

Under ‘My Download Page’ you can notice the list of the recently downloaded ringtones. By simply tapping the ‘Save’ icon you can save them to your Windows Phone 7.  You can rename the ringtone and set it as your ringtone too.

Application requirements:

  • Data services
  • Music and video library
  • Owner identity
  • Windows Phone 7.5 or higher (Mango update)

In short, Free Ringtones is a a nice free application with wide assortment of ringtones that enables a user to:

  1. Download free ringtones
  2. Listen to ringtones on-line
  3. Set the downloaded ringtones on your phone

It would have been still better if if would have allowed you to download and change even your message tone, but unfortunately this app does not do it. Hope the developers can include this functionality too in the future versions.

You download Free Ringtones from the Windows Phone Marketplace.
