We have already talked of Microsoft Mathematics and Math add-in for Microsoft Word and OneNote, two great free tools for students and teachers alike. There is yet another lesser known but very useful tool from Microsoft, called Maths Worksheet Generator. Students may find the Maths Worksheet Generator more useful than teachers!
This free tool has been built on top of the foundation of Microsoft Math, and lets you create and generates multiple maths problems based on a sample, and then creates a worksheet.
By analyzing the maths problem you provide, or one of the built-in samples, the generator determines the structure of the expression and provides similar problems. It even produces the answer sheet too.
The Math Worksheet Generator works best with Microsoft Word 2010 and Word 2010, and supports everything from basic arithmetic to algebra.
There are some known issues that you may want to know:
- Depending on the expression, the Math Worksheet Generator may not be able to produce as many problems as requested.
- While most problems take only a few seconds to generate, some may take a longer time.
- Worksheets may not display correctly, if you are working on a computer without Microsoft Office Word installed, and your My Documents folder is redirected to a network location.
You can download it from Microsoft Education Labs.
