Just installed Free Launch Bar on my Windows 8 computer system and I must say it is one of the most useful freeware for the avid computer users. This freeware is best useful especially for Windows 8 users as the Windows 8 desktop doesn’t have the very useful Start Menu and Quick Launch toolbar which was available in previous versions of Windows.
If you have used Quick Launch Bar, you will find Free Launch Bar much similar to that, but actually this freeware comes with some additional features and performance improvements. Unlike the Quick Launch Bar, Free Launch Bar allows you to combine your shortcuts into groups. It saves the working space on your desktop and also helps you launching your applications real faster. It is the only freeware that can be integrated to your taskbar. The freeware from Tordex gets downloaded and installed in your computer system in less than a minute and comes with installation setup for both 64-bit and 32-bit computer system.
Free Launch bar is an absolutely customizable freeware. Users can change the colors, icon size, and even the context menu easily from the Free Launch Bar settings. I am not exaggerating if I say that users can customize the free launch bar until they get tired of customizing.
Free Launch Bar Settings– You can hide toolbar or lock it if you want. You can also adjust the size of buttons from here. It also allows users to customize the mouse options.
Menu Appearance– This option of Free Launch Bar allows users to change the menu appearance. You can select the alignment of tiles, number of columns, size of icons, number of icons etc. from the Menu Appearance option. You can also set the height/width of menu as well as the button margins. I don’t use any other launch bar, would include that many options of customization.
Custom Colors Users can now change the caption text color, as well as the separator colors to make the launch bar look even more customized.
As a matter of fact, Free Launch Bar is much more than just a launcher. It allows me change appearance; switch windows, add sub menus, lock buttons and much more.
Other than the customization, the features which make Free Launch Bar useful include:
- Creating menu on taskbar with unlimited levels
- Compatibility with all Windows from Windows XP to Windows 8
- Integration into Windows Shell
- Low resources
- Compatibility with Quick Launch
- Creating separators to group shortcuts inside menus
In a nutshell Free Launch Bar is a remarkable freeware that extends the features of the Quick Launch Toolbar, even on my Windows 8 computer system, where it doesn’t exist anymore. Furthermore it is the best utility for Windows 8 users where you don’t even have a Start button to quick launch the applications.
