I don’t think we can consider Dropbox and other cloud services as alternatives to Megaupload. There is a limited space storage for every uploader. With MU, one could upload as many files as one wanted. Regarding Rapidshare, Mediafire & Co, they are limited either in time retention or filesize or number of downloads per day.
Sadly, I have not found a match to MU yet :(
