Folder2MyPC: Add any folder or program to Computer or Control Panel

Folder2MyPC is a freeware download for Windows, that will let you add any folder or program to the My Computer folder or the Control Panel. The application’s interface looks clean and uncluttered however, it lacks any helpful instructions or Help file for using the same.

The program comes as a ZIP file. Just download and install this portable free software. The main window shows separate tabs for creating both folder and application shortcuts.

You simply need to select the folder or application that they want to create a shortcut for and name it. You can even select a custom icon for your file or folder too however, that’s optional.

Folder shortcuts are created in My Computer, while application shortcuts can be added to My Computer or the Control Panel, including Control Panel subcategories.

For your convenience, there’s an additional tab to edit or remove shortcuts already created, and another lists Windows folders with check boxes next to them.

The only shortfall of the application is that upon un-installation, it leaves a folder behind upon removal

Folder2MyPC basic features:

  • Addition / change / removal of any folder and programs in a folder “My Computer” and “Control panel”,
  • Choice for an alternative icon for a folder,
  • Addition / change / removal of any program in a folder “Computer” and “Control Panel”
  • Loading of Programs for display of new folders, after creation of necessary folders is not required.
