Fix: Program icon in Windows 7 notification area lost after updating it

If you have faced a situation when a program icon in the notification area is lost after you have updated the corresponding program in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2, then this post may interest you.

Lets say, you have a program icon being properly displayed and visible in the notification area.

You update the said program.

The program icon goes missing or is moved to the hidden overflow area!

    Well the hotfix upon extraction only has a placeholder text file stating it’s a public update and so it’s not available from the support hotfixes website. But its not public either.
