The Like button of Facebook has given publishers the opportunity to make their websites more social in just a few steps.
Today, Facebook released more features for the Like button to add more value to a website.
Now, when a user adds a comment to the iFrame version of the Like button, a larger, more prominent story will be shared with the user’s friends.
“In the past, we’ve seen comments result in increased distribution and referral traffic. To enable this feature, ensure that you are using layout=”standard” and the width of the button is at least 450 pixels.”
Publishers can now therefore publish content to the feeds of all people who liked a specific page.
So now if you ‘Like’ an article, it will enable sending a news feed story to all Facebook users who liked this page.
The analytics feature has also been upgraded. As a result, webmasters & publishers will be able to track how exactly that information was spread via Facebook.
