I have a desktop (HP) with both Ubuntu 15.04 and Windows 10. Boot goes to Windows 10 automatically. If I wish to use Ubuntu, I have to Esc. my way into the UEFI settings , change the boot order, save changes, and exit. It then boots to Ubuntu. When I shut down from Ubuntu, it will reboot to "grub", which allows the choice of either OS. If I choose Windows, when I shut down, it only returns to Windows, unless I go through all the UEFI stuff again. I tried to fix this with a program that said it would provide an interface that would allow the choice. It did not work, but left a screen that I see at startup which appears to offer the choice, but does not. Only works if I choose Windows (I'd love to get rid of that clutter at start-up). I'd also love to be given the choice of OS when I boot. Any advice?

Hi Shyam, I am dual booting Ubuntu 14.04 & Win 8.1 One fine day when I start my Laptop the windows won't boot and straight away go to Automatic repair. When I selected refresh or reset or even automatic repair, nothing worked. I can boot and use Ubuntu without any prob but the initial boot up has become slow, I mean the first screen that we see like I get a Dell Logo, also has become very slow. The whole automatic repair and troubleshooting takes ages. Please help.

I have a dual-boot system with Windows 7 as the 1st OS and Windows 8 the 2nd OS. Somehow Windows 7 got some errors that cannot be fixed by Windows 7 installer CD.
My question is: Can I clean-install Window 7 and still dual-boot with Windows 8 or do I have to re-install Windows 8 too?
