Windows Home Server 2011, now available for download to TechNet, MSDN Subscribers

Windows Home Server blog has announced that Windows Home Server 2011 is now available for download to the TechNet and MSDN subscribers, starting today for testing and evaluation purposes. Windows Home Server 2011 helps multi-PC families easily centralize, connect, and personalize their digital files. It provides a simple, familiar, and reliable way to store, stream, share and automatically protect what is most important.

Windows Server Solutions SDK Installer, a tool that helps you install the Windows Server Solutions SDK has also been just released. It has Visual Studio 2010 samples and templates that you can use to easily create applications for Windows Home Server 2011.

    I’ll be staying far away from it until there’s a proven third-party replacement for Drive Extender. DE made WHS and w/o it, there is no compelling reason to upgrade. This is going to be XP/Vista all over again for Microsoft.
