One of my clients brings an hp laptop, Model Hp 250 G3 for repair with the problem of not displaying on the screen. When the system is powered, it shows there is mild display of brightness of the screen with one or two keyboard lights but with nothing like the cursor blinking on the screen.
I removed the Sata hard drive from the system and put it into an external case in order to check for errors on the drive. I was able to access the content of the drive but decide to scan the drive with the window 8 scan tool which says I don't need to scan the drive. I opted for the SCAN THIS DRIVE option which reported some errors on the drive. I then changed to cmd command by typing chkdsk /r. It reported cannot write to the disk because the drive is write protected. Does it mean that I have to format the drive to remove the write-protection? Please I need someone's help to overcome this problem.
