Mozilla Firefox browser adds new options, including a new Firefox Health Report feature. The feature, at its core, provides Mozilla with information about the system, browser’s performance and stability over time. Mozilla uses the aggregated, anonymous data generated by Health Report to provide you with meaningful comparisons and tips.
Firefox Health Report
The feature is enabled by default i.e. Data sharing is on by default. You can access this feature by selecting the Help sub-menu visible under Firefox menu and selecting Firefox Health Report option.
If not required, you can turn Health Report feature on or off from the top of any Firefox Health Report page.
Here’s how to go about!
Disable Firefox Health Report
In the upper right-hand corner of your browser window, click the Firefox button, look for the ‘Options’ submenu. Click the option!
Next, Select the Advanced panel. Select the Data Choices tab.
If you wish to disable the feature, uncheck the box next to Enable Firefox Health Report. The request will be processed immediately. If for some reasons, like slow internet connection the browser does not receive a response that the request was successfully processed, it will continue sending the delete request periodically until it is received successfully.
Click OK to close the Options window.
On a side-note, If you have just installed Firefox browser, the information in the Health Report may not be accurate as it typically takes 14 days of browser use to see any trends. Remember, when you turn ‘Health Report’ feature off, Firefox will stop sending information about your browser to Mozilla servers. It will delete the previously submitted information too from the servers.
