Open the Chrome browser first.

Using the search field, look for a flag that has the following name:

Look for the flag highlighted in the bright yellow that stays at the top of the list, i.e. Omnibox Suggestion Transparency Options.
This flag has the following description:
Surfaces an X button next to deletable omnibox suggestions. This is to make the suggestion removal feature more discoverable. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android
This flag has currently been set to the Default mode. It indicates that the flag is disabled at this time. So, to make it enable, click on the respective drop-down menu and then switch the Default option to Enabled.
And finally, to take effect the changes, click on the Relaunch button.

When the browser restarts, type something in the address bar.
