The Loudness Equalization is turned on by default. If you actually care about sound quality, turn it off with any other “enhancements”. It sounds terrible.

I had the same problem for months. Finally found the solution, hope it works for those who face the same problem:
1) go to search, key in sound
2) select “sound mixer option”
3) under app volume, set to 100

When I did that, sound level is back to normal, loud and clear.

does not increase the volume for me. I even click the volume to the top. Any other “great” advice?

useless and obvious. Windows 10 is always messing with my sound. I can no longer update my drivers because the sound is so low. Windows is abysmal. What is going on and when will you fix the sound issues many are facing. We cannot hear our own audio it is so low.
