Auslogics BoostSpeed Review & Download

There are plenty of optimization applications that promise to revitalize your system and speed up a computer performance but, rarely do these programs use trusted and tested system optimization techniques and technologies to take care of our PCs performance. Moreover, some of them instead of turning the system fast, can actually end up harming your system . Auslogics BoostSpeed claims to solve all these pesky Windows problems in a safe manner.

Auslogics BoostSpeed Review

Auslogics BoostSpeed 5 is a useful tool for optimizing your PC performance and protecting it. The tool includes a wide array of basic and advanced features that make it simple for both, new and intermediate users to use the program.

The main highlight of the program is that many complex functions are supplemented with simple explanations and step-by-step instructions. Auslogics BoostSpeed 5 under clear and concise headings provides access to many modules which are intelligently sub-categorized. You can easily locate the maintenance module you are searching for, and try it to make your computer fast again.

Auslogics BoostSpeed is easy to install. Simply head over to the official website and download the program. The installation wizard helps you install the product on your computer. In minutes the program was up and ready to run. It displayed 4 main system modules. They are:

  1. System Scan
  2. System Advisor
  3. Resource Usage
  4. Advanced Tools

I decided to check out each tab and its function in detail. Here we go!

System Scan

On the main screen of the program you will see a Scan now button. You have to click on it to start the scan.

In the lower section of the window, I found the program displaying the days (15) of trial remaining for me to purchase the software. If you have purchased the software, simply enter the license code in the registration window to activate the program. Upon activation, you will receive a confirmation message and you will have to restart the software.

Thereafter I was asked to ‘Scan’ the system using one of these methods:

  • Scan only
  • Scan and Repair
  • Scan, Repair and Sleep
  • Scan, Repair, Sleep and Shutdown

If you want to see the fixes which will be applied, I suggest you select Scan only. I preferred 2nd method over other methods. Soon, the program started processing my request. In addition to finding disk and registry errors, BoostSpeed started looking for junk and fragmented files and in minutes presented the results before me.

Surprisingly, I found the program detecting 1000 errors on my system and fixing most (990) out of them. Some were not fixed as the program did not have an access to the locked files and registry keys.

To check some error reports in detail, I clicked on ‘View Details’ link and viewed the log generated by the program. The log nicely displayed in my default browser.

To the right side of System Scan windows I noticed “Quick Tasks” to erase browser history, Windows history, temporary files and optimize memory all in a single click. I Just hit the links and in seconds I found that all the tasks had completed successfully.

System Advisor

This System Advisor module basically scans your system for performance improvements and potential security issues. It quickly analyzes your computer and lets you know which applications, features or function can be tweaked or disabled.

That said, it is always a good practice reading the recommendations made by the program, because, such performance boosters may even recommend that you disable autorun or apply visual tweaks that you may not want to apply.

Resource Usage

This module of BoostSpeed is somewhat similar to Windows’ ‘Task Manager’. It displays in real time which applications are using excess of RAM and lets you terminate those applications if they are running on your system.

A click on the ‘View Details’ link opens up BoostSpeed’s own Task Manager whose rating feature, provides some additional information and rates the processes as ‘Trustworthy’ and ‘Unknown’. It offers you more control than the Windows Task Manager.

Advanced Tools

Advanced Tools module provides a user with even more advanced and robust options for those who require them.

Most of the options are self-explanatory except, manual optimization for Speeding up Internet. Lets check out each of them in short:

Speed up Internet : Auslogics Internet Optimizer is divided into sections for manual and automatic optimization. Manual optimization section may look confusing and complicated. If you are beginner, the chances of disabling certain important settings are high hence, automatic optimization process is recommended.

Other than this, there are following system tweak sections, each serving a well-defined purpose.

Registry Maintenance : Lets you carry out the registry defragmentation process. Its Registry Cleaner helps improve the performance and the stability of a computer.

Disaster Recovery : One of the most liked feature about Auslogics BoostSpeed 5 is that it allows you to easily recover accidentally deleted files not only from your computer disk, but also from USB memory sticks or digital camera and memory cards.

If you remember the last modification date and time of the lost files, the program helps you narrow down the search and recover them. The ‘Disk Wiper‘ and ‘File Shredder’ tools under this section allows you to permanently delete already deleted files so that they cannot be restored later.

Free up Space : It includes a Duplicate File Finder that scans your drives, looking for duplicate files and allows you to delete them. At times, both copies of a file are required – but the program protects you to some extent by not highlighting duplicates in system folders. The second, ‘Explore disk drives’ helps you find the which  directories are occupying maximum disk space – so that you can remove some files if you feel to free up some space.

Disk Maintenance : The Auslogics Disk Doctor under ‘Repair disks’ analyzes and repairs your hard drive.

The latest version includes some new features and bug fixes:

  1. Disk Cleaner now enables you to permanently delete (shred) files to ensure they won’t be recovered by anyone;
  2. Track cleaning in Track Eraser has been improved and this tool now also supports the latest versions of the following applications: Acronis True Image, Team Speak, CamFrog Video Chat, Skype, MediaMonkey, Nero Burning ROM and RealPlayer
  3. Duplicate File Finder has gotten wiser with some significant search algorithm improvements, as well as better at working with DVD video format, etc.

The latest Auslogics BootSpeed version 8 has offline defragmentation, a System Advisor tool that tells you where else you could improve your PC – including hardware upgrade suggestions, less limited free trial – you can use every one of the 18 tools several times for free – and some other neat features.

You will find Auslogics BoostSpeed to be a complete tool to improve your computer performance in just about every area of your PCs operations. I found the program extremely useful right from the start and therefore wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
