Windows4all.com moves to Silverlight 3.

Windows4all is an online virtual operating system. It is is a website that simulates an operating system inside your web browser. You can launch applications right away without installation.

 This project has now moved form Silverlight 2 to Silverlight 3.

Right click on its desktop and it will give you 2 options : (a) Silverlight Settings and (b) Install Windows4all.com to this computer.

 

The first option will open a Configuration dialog box. The second option will allow you to to download and run this offline!

Some of Silverlight 3’s new features and improvements include support for running Silverlight applications out of the browser, H.264/AAC/MP4 media playback, GPU support, pixel APIs including pixel shaders, perspective 3D, local messaging between Silverlight applications, an improved business object framework, SEO support

Besides desktop, taskbar, start menu and sidebar, currently it includes such applications:

* File Explorer
* Internet Explorer
* Video Player
* Rich text editor
* RSS reader
* Notepad
* Paint
* Calculator
* Games
